Forcing my GPU to run under 2D mode

Thread Starter
So I have my PC on a UPS but unfortunately it cant handle it under full load during a blackout. It's only good enough for normal use like movies, browsing etc etc. Now my question is, can I somehow force my GPU to run under 2D mode when I play games? So that I can play games but my GPU doesn't suck so much power. Or if not completely under 2D then a cross between 2D mode and 3D mode?

2d mode is only 50 mhz core clock even if you found a way to run the games in this mode it would be too slow, it would be slower then 20 years old card lol
You can downclock the card with any overclocking utililites like msi afterburner or evga precision.I think you can dowclock it all the way to 500 mhz it should use less power that way

Just underclock the GPU so that it is running at a lower speed under full load versus what it would be running at stock. That should solve the issue, hopefully. 2D mode is just lower clocks, so you would essentially be doing the same thing.
