only 2GB reference models with the dual bios function can be unlocked. make sure you confirm that first before buying if you wanna be able to unlock.
I know the Diamond brand has the switch thats the one i have

Well I'm running Athlon II x4 640 at stock speeds (3.0GHz).

What do you guys think about this?

That is, in fact, a reference card that will potentially have the dual BIOS and BIOS switch that allows for safe unlocking to a 6970. However from what I've heard, even reference models have a chance of lacking the BIOS switch now as AMD has heard about the rampant 6970 unlocking.

From multiple tests, there is only about a 3% improvement from the unlock, an improvement that can easily be surpassed by simply overclocking the 6950. My recommendation to you would be to get a non-reference 2GB version with improved cooling, like the MSI Twin Frozr II or Twin Frozr III.

I've read that there have been as much as 11% performance increases. Maybe it depends on the game/program.

My options are quite much there three (damn annoying, good video cards are hard to find in where I live):

http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...00101&pid=1021
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3667#ov

Others are either 1GB versions or just too expensive because of some features I don't need like support for 6 displays

Careful with sapphire ones, the latest 2gb models don't have dual bios and afaik can't be unlocked. U can tell by the strange looking cooler.

I have a gigabyte one and a sapphire on it's way both dual bios, bought already unlocked

CCC limits the OC to 840/1325

on stock volts I can do 900 and be stable, and the 2GB VRAM does 1520 and passes furmark tests

I use sapphire TRIXX, its OC limits are 1200/1600, but I have to use MSIAB if I want to add volts
