Yup, I spent a while talking to people and became aware of the risk, I already thought about not running the OC 24/7. At least I got it to work so I can say I did and have experience. I was already leaning towards going back to stock today or tomorrow.

Ah, should of known it was the motherboard causing the problem, it was the cheapest AM3 I could find. So I have no hope at all?

Sometimes it is possible to overclock to 3GHz if I change the freq. to 208 but that doesn't always work and any higher makes the clock speed revert back to 2.8GHz.

Thanks anyway, I'm pretty sure you have identified my problem
