I think my SSD just died - Page 2

Sorry for the thread jack but is this common for SSD's? I'm thinking of getting one but I've noticed a very high failure rate for SSD's. I'm looking at an Intel 320 as these seem to be a little more reliable than the OCZ's...

Oh yeah, definitely going to RMA... actually already made the ticket, but I know I won't get a response until Tuesday. I think I might pick up 2 Vertex 2s for some Raid0 and try to sell the Agility off once I get it back from RMA.

Should I look at a different brand? If so, what do you suggest?

honestly, i would stick with OCZ regardless. the vertex series uses a sandforce firmware that ocz gets special access to. this means that vertex drives are some of the fastest SSDs that you can get

You have also the new Corsair with sandforce (as OCZ).

Without sandforce there are other as well.

You have noticed a high failure rate? I haven't, besides a few rare cases. (Mostly the vertex mm shrink)

Aren't all corsair drives rebranded OCZ's?

I haven't heard of very many people with SSD failure, a dozen or less I would say.

Anyways I just ordered 2X Vertex 2 60GB, really looking forward to them.
