Is 60GB enough?

Thread Starter
I'm about to buy my first SSD. I'll be using it with a couple of 500GB standard HDD's.

The question, as above, is whether 60GB is enough?

Windows 7 64bit. Microsoft Office 2010. Adobe Master Collection CS5.

With windows-updates and little pieces of software and virus-definitions e.t.c... is 60GB enough?

To upgrade to 120GB is an additional £50 roughly it seems. Is it worth it?

Any advice would be much appreciated- thanks!

P.S. Alternatively there are 90GB ones for ~£135 it seems...

with those softwares installed, it will leave you about 30gb left to use.

Cool. Is there a particular best brand or is OCZ, Crucial, Intel, Kingston... all equally good?
personally i would upgrade if it only costs an extra £50, gives you a little bit more room to play. i find that 120gb is a bit small when it comes to having my most used programs on it

Well my current main drive (a normal HDD) has like 120gb used up on it. (i do have a 2nd hdd for "My Documents") But equally my friend with a SSD says he never gets over 45GB.

how is it that one could keep programs to under 60gb without having to be exceptionally careful about what goes on it?
yes
Yep.

I had a 30GB SSD before this, that was a bit cramped, but I have 8 - 9GB left on a 40GB, so a 60GB will be more than enough.

i had a ocz ssd 60gig,when formated left with 59.gig.winows 7 ultimate 64bit with sp1 and all my programes, and installed black ops ,i had 31gig left, just set to store any down loads on your 500gig hd.
install games on your other hard drive and just send a short cut from your game to the ssd ,works fine,

Windows and programs take up 27 GiB on my laptop and 28 GiB on my desktop. I find it hard to believe that one would be able to fill up 60 GB if they have documents and games on a secondary HDD.
