Silent & Cheap Powersupply?

Thread Starter
Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a silent and relative cheap powersupply.
I don't have a crossfire/sli setup, I'm currently deciding which graphics card to use, it either be GTX460/560 or HD6850/HD6870, I doubt those need big powersupplies.

Any suggestions?

Take a look at this list here of recommended Power Supplies.
http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...-supplies.html

AS you can see, The Rosewill Green Series PSU's are on that list.

If you are sure you only want a single card setup of GTX 460 or 6850, go with the 430w for $40.49 after Promo code.

If you are getting the 6870/560, and are planning to do serious overclocking on your CPU and GPU, go with the 530w for $50.

Go with 630w if you have the money to leave room for future upgrades. It's only $55.98 after Promo.

Agreed on the CX500... but 850W for pairs of those video cards? You can run some of those pairs on a good 550W, and definitely on any decent 650W. Those are not high consumption cards!

Thanks.
Can you guys assure me that I won't be able to hear it @ about 50cm-1m distance in a fractal define R3?

Already took a look at the list, but it doesn't really say if the PSU is quiet or not.
I can't use newegg, promos don't apply to me.

Typically the graphics card would be noisier, so I'm not sure why you would worry that much over PSU noise.

Because I had a PSU before that was noisier than my 6950.

Typically units sold as being quiet are expensive.I would suggest the antec earthwatts ea650.For 65 bucks you are not going too beat it I don't think. It is considered very quiet also.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...47&Tpk=hcg-520 This is the same price as the CX500 and a little better.

A good 450w would do, though.

Well then, you should probably put the country you live in over here so people can give you better recommendations based on the prices in your area.
