I ran with a Q9400 for quiet a while and they are a solid chip. In my experience with this, IBT and Linx failed me when my vcore was a little low or too high.

Your low Gflops and large time duration indicate to me your volts could use some adjusting.

What Vcore are you using?

I would expect a Gflops around the mid to high 40s with that chip.
I would bet it's your ram.

Set Ram voltage manually
Check timings x-x-x-x 1/2T
Increase your northbridge voltage.
have a look in bios and see what vcore you have.
you are fine upto 1.36v.
i do find intel burn test, the quickest for testing cpu's. and in my expierence, every time i have failed IBT, it was due to a low vcore,
if the vcore looks low, then raise it a couple of levels

Fine up until 1.45v in bios, actually smile.gif

Of course, that will be tempered with the type of cooler your are using.

OP, can you post your M.I.T sheet, so we can see what settings you are using please.

Enclosed is my old one for 4Ghz on the Q9400.

i took some picures of my M.I.T, Vcore was 1.21250V is this too low?

go back to what jack brennan said and make sure that the voltage and timings on the ram are set correctly. what brand/model of ddr 1333 Mhz is it?

if all that is set correctly, you may be looking at RMA'ing the ram.

First double check the settings, then try running memtest with one stick at a time to narrow down the culprit.

the ram i'm using is http://www.ebuyer.com/product/192049

i up'd my northbridge voltage and the vcore by a few levels

could anyone offer advice as to RAM timings?
im going to re run the IBT with the new voltages and i'll let you know what happens smile.gif thanks for all the help guys!

okay so i re ran IBT with the new voltages as mentioned in my last post and it passed! biggrin.gif

does the low Gflops matter?

thanks for the advice about voltage guys, i'll + rep everyone that suggested that biggrin.gif just got one question about my RAM timings though, how would i find the best timings for my ram? (there's a link to it in my last post)
cheers!

Set timings to 9 - 9 - 9 - 24 and Command Rate 2T with 1.52v for the Ram Voltage.

There is a user review on ebuyer, his ram was set to CL6 automatically and this ram is CL9, so i think your problem might be here.

On your Memtest screenshot, the timings is CL7, theres your problem. The motherboard probably is guessing the timings each bootup, so sometimes you might luck out, so set the manually.

Im betting Prime95 Blend will fail fast.
