It seems more logical based on the very nature of the anomaly that it's driver related, in the process of trying several other driver versions out, the unfortunate issue is I can't revert to 266.58, I only have 3 drivers to chose from.

I like the input I'm getting from the thread though.

You always could go thru DRIVERSWEEPER, wipe all drivers and re-install the one that was working fine...

I'm on Forceware 270.61 Win7 64bits here

theres alot of glitches in bc2. like the background landscape would flash white for some reason at times or houses in the background look like they're missing half of the roof. its weird.

On top of what Frank is saying,

I always seen a semi-bright outline when you reach to limit of the map in Atacama Desert (the mountain side)...

Also, so textures are being drawn the closer you get to the location, which sometimes looks weird...

All in all, BFBC2 is still one of the nicest-looking war game ever IMHO...

266.58 - Doesn't recognize my card, which makes sense.

267.60 - Drivers off the CD, oldest version that's newer than 266.58 that I could try as my card's so new, Issue still occurs.

270.61 - Still occurs.

275.27 Beta - Still occurs.

I did notice more aspects of the issues behavior.

Only "one side" of it seems to cause the issue, meaning there's a light side and a shadow side of the debris, the aqua hue only occurs when there's no light shining and it appears to only show this discoloration when there's something else in the backdrop meaning something behind it as when it floats up and only the sky is behind it the discoloration fades.

Another way to explain it would be that when the backdrop of the scene is a dark texture or has a shadow the aqua blue discoloration occurs when put against a shadow, I looked at another area with lots of debris flying around and the aqua discoloration occurred only when the debris was in front of something dark or that had a shadow cast on it, but not if the debris was physically there, just when the backdrop was dark/shadowed. So when the debris is now on top of something that doesn't cast a shadow it's bright.

I'm still leaning towards this being driver related, I have texture pop-in issues with the new card since it is so new and drivers haven't had time to be tweaked, and last month when I obtained the card I noticed significantly less pop-in with the drivers off the CD.

It would seem safe to assume that if I did damage my proc with the OC I would have significantly more issues with games, not just debris in a BC2 map. I don't know of any other maps in BC2 that have debris such as paper and sparks floating around.

what drivers are you running?

i was using the 270.61betas and was having a similar problem - went back to the 260.xx one and no more problems

Issue has been resolved.

After reading this thread I was reminded I should test again.

275.33 WHQL doesn't appear to suffer from this issue. On top of that, I found further evidence that proves my original findings were correct.

I originally noticed the discoloration appeared to be related to light sources/shadows, I was 100% correct.

The bright or "orange" aura only appears when I'm looking at the debris with a light source behind it. If there's no flaring light source behind the debris this doesn't occur and it seems like a design choice. However, the blue/green/purple auras are now gone. The only variable is I'm now using 275.33 WHQL.

I've been enthralled with Demon's Souls on the PS3 for a while, forgot to test with the new driver as I haven't touched BC2.

First off -- Demons Souls is GOD TIER gaming -- massive props for that

Second, I wouldn't have been able to imagine this issue if you hadn't provided screen shots. I just saw the other thread on this same issue and decided to follow you here for a bit of "wow that's one odd effect" commentary.
I'm glad you got it working with the other driver - I wonder how a bug like that found its way in there.... It is, as you said, clearly driver related, but only tied to this ONE game... hmm, very fascinating --- Glad you got to the bottom of this though! That's some good detective work~

Haha, thanks. I'm enjoying the game, I really am. I beat it in 4 days, going through NG+ now, expect to eventually be in NG++ ect. Having immense fun meeting mature/friendly people to do coop with, and also enjoying soloing.
