Windows 7 Ultimate is crashing

Thread Starter
So, it's completely random and I usually notice it when I'm waking the computer up, although sometimes I'll go to use it and notice that it has rebooted. Basically, when I wake it up and notice the problem, it goes to a bluescreen and does a memory dump. The computer reboots and reloads windows and I log in. It tells me that windows recovered for a crash, but it doesn't tell me much more, such as what caused it to crash or any errors what-so-ever. I'm under the impression I'm just not looking in the correct place. Where should I be looking to troubleshoot this issue? As I'm writing this I realize I should probably look in the event viewer, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Also, twice thus far, I've noticed some of my hard drives (I have 6) disappear from file explorer and disk manager. I reboot and they come back, could this be a problem with the OS also, or, a problem with the sata controller on the motherboard?
