Help with chosing core and other items?

So after finding out that there isnt much to do with the computer my brother got me, i'm on a quest to build a new gaming PC peice by peice that will last me a while in this ever upgrading race. These are what i was thinking about buying so far.

CPU: *Intel Core i5 Processor i5-2500K 3.3GHz 6MB LGA1155

Motherboard: Asus Motherboard SABERTOOTH P67 REV 3.0 Core I7/I5/I3 LGA1155 P67 DDR3 PCI Express SATA ATX

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1866 MHz (PC3 15000) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM Memory Kit for Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and AMD platforms

Graphics: I curently have the GeForce 210 and was planing on using that while i saved up for maybe the GeForce GTX580 or 590.

*Power Supply: Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply compatible with Intel Core i7 and Core i5

Moniter: Big 1080p Full HD TV i'm using at the moment. Also have the HP w1858 moniter should i need to use it.

Speakers: Both aforementioned moniters have built in speakers.

Sound Card: Was planning on useing the built in card for the time being.

Now will all this work together? Will i need to buy extra fans or other such cooling equip? Will my big-but-generic case work? I haven't built a pc myself in so long i don't know these answers anymore and i haven't been able to find out much more than i've stated. From what i can tell this'll all work well together and it'll last a while with OCing it, which i plan to do once i learn more about how to OC from this fourm.

Also as i stated before this will be a gamning computer, mostly for online MMOS i like to max out on settings such as Champions Online and the up and coming SWTOR; and then the single players games like Elder Scrolls 5 or Mass Effect 3 or Brink to give you an idea of the type of games i play/want to play. So i guess the last question is, Am i going overboard, just right, or aim higher?

If you are just building for gaming, you might want to get an i5 2500k. I hear its better for gaming and you will also save some money. As far as the case goes, i dont know what type of case you have but you might want to get a new one if your current case doesnt have good airflow as this will help keep your temps low.

By power core you mean power supply? I dont know much about them but I think maybe a good 750 watt will be more than enough for what you want and have enough power to handle some upgrades in the future. The corsair power supplies are good.

You're gunna need an aftermarket cooler to overclock your cpu which might not fit in that generic case. same applies for the graphics card, i doubt it'd fit as it's like 11 inches long.

experts here say that the 590 has heat issues that is frying the card, i would stay away from it. go for 580 and maybe you'll sli in the future. you might also need a 850W psu for sli.
