Asus Crosshair IV and hdd transfer issue

Thread Starter
I just got my new hardware, and I've noticed an issue. Before I explain, heres my hardware. Asus Crosshair IV. OCZ Solid 3 120GB. Samsung f3 7200 rpm. Samsung f4 2TB 5400rpm. Liteon dvd-rw. Mobo updated to rost recent bios. SSD flashed to latest firmare.
Heres my issue. After installing Windows and before installing mobo drivers hdd transfer between the mechanical drives are great. After drivers are installed the transfer will slowly go from aroubd 100Mb/s down to about 10Mb/s. And the whole system is kind of sluggish. CPU at about 5% usage, and RAM at about 30% usage.
Bios setting for the drives are:
on chip sata speed - 6Gb/s
on chip sata channel - enabled
everything set to ahci since before install

Any ideas?

Hmm... you may want to set SATA speed to auto. What BIOS did you update to? There is a BIOS out that is only meant for Bulldozer chips, and it could give you issues as well. I would suggest you ask in this thread. http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...a-extreme.html If my answer didn't help, there are others there who can help you better.
