Ubisoft's HD remakes for PC?

Thread Starter
I know that Ubisoft has done HD remakes of a few series, the ones I'm interested in are Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell.
Does somebody know if they will be available for PC?
I'm tempted to buy the Splinter Cell series that is on sale on Steam today but this last thing is holding me back.
Anyway I think that the graphics are "HD" only for consoles while for PC it's probably the same. The reason to buy them would be a better compatibility with modern hardware.
Thanks for any answer.

well, you CAN crank up your resolution to 1080p, etc... but the textures and character models are still low-res...

and that applies to almost all PC games...
so it isn't true HD, but it is in terms of pixel density...

Yeah, that makes sense but do you know if it's coming for PC?

Other then Beyond Good and Evil, I don't think they did anything other then increase resolution in those "remakes".

No they will not be coming to the PC they are as of right now PS3 exclusive. As for Splinter Cell they are actually taking the PC versions as a base touching them up a bit and porting them over to the PS3.

The remastered Splinter Cell Trilogy, in development for PS3, is based on the PC versions of the original games, confirms Ubisoft's Alex Monney. "When we started this project, one of our main goals was to provide the players with the best possible content," he writes in a post on PlayStation Blog. "Hence we decided to port the game from the PC version which had more content and detail compared to the PS2 version."
