my grandpa is an apple nut, and drove an hour north of his house to the apple store on the opening day of the first iphone to pay $600 for one. i still don't understand why he would do that. also, he did the same thing (except at an airport) with the iPad 2. he purchased one for my grandma, then she purchased one for him. that's about $1,500 bucks for 2 stupid FULL RETAIL iPads.

also, he owns 1 27" iMac, Mac Pro, apple tv, he has had iPhone, iPhone 2g, 2x iPhone 3g, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 (white)

i almost can't go over there because i have to stop myself from getting in an argument about him wasting his money. I mean come on, you can get the things for hundreds off online.

My captivate is just as good (if not better) than an iPhone4. It's faster (OCed), I can switch out batteries, I can add a microSD card for more storage, I can charge it with any micro-USB cable.
you can charge an iPhone with any iPod cable (30-pin iDevice connector)

And that cable is insanely common now.

What's ridiculous is that the extra 16gb probably costs Apple an extra $10. They add a zero, and bam! That's the mark-up. 100 freakin dollars! My Captivate is 16GBs, and if I ever wanted to get more memory, all i have to do is buy a $15 Micro-SD card.

iphone is basically just a name any more. The Galaxy S Captivate that I have was put up against my brothers iphone 4 just a few weeks ago. I beat him on everything except I believe his is capable of 4G not sure though. My phone has bigger screen, faster processor, way more free apps than the iphone, and almost infinite custom things that can be done compared next to it. My 4" screen next to his iphone made it look pitiful.

Not saying the iphone is junk just stating my results of a semi-top of the line Android phone compared next to a new iphone 4. IMO iPhone's are just for saying "I have an iPhone" other than that Droid beats them on everything thats applicable.

It's not just Apple so lets not point fingers. All the android tablets I've seen so far are doing the same thing.

Sorry to get off topic but....
Blackberry's are WAY overrated. I don't know if this happens in other countries but in Toronto, Canada there has been a WAVE of teenagers getting blackberries. I honestly don't see any benefit other than BBM, which is usually an extra $10 charge on your plan. I see so many people that are probably under16 texting/bbming away.

I've always been a die-hard iPhone fan. I had the first ever iPhone and even though i broke it (i wasn't too careful with it...) it was the best phone i've ever had. Although I am starting to fall for the Samsung Galaxy but I'll see what happens when my plan comes to an end

I just remember my friend wanted to charge his 3gs. I had a car-ipod charger and told him to use it. He said it wouldn't work, because it was an older cable even though it would physically fit in the 3GS.

It's for business. I have to use one for work. I really like the email on it, but don't see any other purpose for it other than MS Exchange.

Yea, teenagers w/BB doesn't make sense to me. Web-surfing on it is terrible
