true accounting for all models is difficult, however it is still better to deal with that than the garbage hoops I had to jump through to try and develop on my 3GS. Plus, android has software so regular people can develop easy apps for the phone.

The goal of a OS/phone should not be lets worry about the dev's but, lets worry about giving customers the option to have a different phone if they want.

No choices for apple, tons of choices for android.
Not everyone wants that though. I was content with just the iPhone 4.

I loved it but then again I'm into anything design related.

The 3GS is crap compared to the Iphone 4.

The screen on the Iphone 4 is awesome and enough reason to upgrade from the 3GS > IP4 .

The Camera and Video recording is heaps better aswell.

The whole phone overall is heaps better nothing to just role your eyes .

Thats fine if not everybody wants options (new to me)But, I as well as most consumers want choices and apple is failing at that. proof is how many games have I came acrros that are not supported on mac? That same thing is gonna happen eventually on the phone side.

Games aren't a good comparison. PC gaming obviously goes way back before Apple and Apples rise in popularity is only quite recent. On the other hand iOS really kicked it off and Android came after (as in its release to the public) so it's not going to be the same situation.

How many iPhones could Apple make at once and what would be different about the different models? Not much if you ask me. If Apple let other companies make phones that used iOS, that would be one thing. As we all know, that will never happen though.

Overhyped? I would say yes IMO. However it is a very good and solid phone. Android as a whole OS wise is still paying catch up to iOS while it's ahead of iOS in others. The iPhone 4's front facing camera is still something many new phones being released don't have. The iPhone 4 also has one of the best cameras on a phone, despite it being only 5MP, it's much better then other 5's as well as most phones 8's. The only phone I've seen that gives it a run for it's money and also beats it IMO is the Samsung galaxy S2.

The bashers are mostly people who just hate to hate in the "We're better then iPhone owners group". I'm waiting to see the next iPhone model to see what I'm going with this year, although if the screen is unchanged from iPhone 4, I'm going Samsung galaxy S2 for sure. Ice Cream Sandwich is going to crush iOS if it does not change drastically. The USB Support is going to make emulators very awesome to play while on the go.

I meant to only talk about the "gaming" as a reference to apples business strategy and it is totally relevant.

I am not saying "I'm better than you" only that people who tend to think apple is superior to Android are wrong. To test this I'm willing to do some benchmarks on my Samsung Galaxy vs your iPhone.

When running my business from my phone Apple did not cut the mustard, Blackberry was the best, then I eventually went to a Galaxy S for free and it rocks.

P.S. I hate Blackberry but it was easy for me with my business.

Wow how did I know this thread was going to turn into a lets bash the iPhone/Apple or lets bash Android thread. The title was pretty clear, is it over hyped? The answer is pretty clear too, yes it is. I'm surprised a mod hasn't locked this already.
