new router needed?

Thread Starter
i currently have a linksys befw11s4 wireless, and have my desktop connected to it with ethernet and my laptop wireless.

i spilled soda on it a while back, and now i cant log into it through my browser. i never changed it from the default. first i tried holding the reset for 30 seconds untill the lights blinked, and i still couldnt log in with the default. tried reseting and then unpluging it for a few mins and that didnt work.

i often have problems with NAT, and need to portforward.. so getting into the router is important.

i have been considering buying a new router, and would also like it to have the option to install 3rd party firmware, or have editable QOS? (idk if thats what its called) where i can set priority for programs or something like that.

i was thinking about buying a d-link dir-601

anyone have a solution for my current router? or know of a good one to buy? cheap

First try to reset the network stack
Enter the following one by one at the cmd prompt

Netsh winsock reset
Netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\
esetlog.txt
Netsh interface reset all
Netsh firewall reset
Reboot

Disable your firewall and test it.
If still not working cmd prompt
Ipconfig /all

Copy and paste it here. Just XXX out your mac addy

I know it doesn't support dd-wrt (or any other third party firmware), but I've enjoyed my Dir-655. It had a rocky start with the firmware a while back (was basically a paperweight for over a year), but it's a solid router now. The QOS has configurable rules also. It's 75$ on newegg right now.
The only gripe I have against the 655 is I'm having a lot of trouble getting magicpackets through externally for WOL. (It's an issue many people seem to have)

Here is an emulator for the dir-655revB so you can see the menu options and such.
