What do you guys think about using this with two of these? I was thinking of lapping it and applying ZALMAN ZM-STG2. I don't have a ton of money for liquid cooling so I thought this might be an insane alternative! I'm not very knowledgeable about static pressure but I figure if I taped the sides of the heatsink leaving room for a few Enzotech MOS-C10 that these two 119 CFM fans in push pull could do the trick. I'm not worried about noise for this project. I'm going for a 4 GHz stable and cool overclock. Any thoughts?

Your mobo, 3+1 Phase, likely wouldn't be safe.

I dont care how much air you can push 92mm fans/cooler is not enough surface area.

Look at getting the CM 212plus or the new 120mm xig. Dual fans haven't really proven anything more than a couple degrees.

I'm not talking about an unlock. I want to overclock my dual core. I have got it to 4.2 GHz with just the multiplier but It hits 60C running Prime 95. I'm trying to keep it cool and see if it runs stable. I know not to push Phenom II's past 60C. So more surface area and second fan is a novelty... Ok Thanks!

All of this will still affect the Phases and VRM's, unless it being a dual core isn't as significant to a 3+1 setup as a quad core OC would be.

I can run it at 4.2, it just gets really hot. I have OCP but the board is not shutting off, the CPU just gets hot. My CPU voltage is only 1.4...

You're not understanding the fact that the mobo is a 3+1 Phase mobo which means your VRM's might literally melt/explode/catch fire, your proc's temp means nothing. This is the very reason I went back to stock yesterday after obtaining a stable OC. Even though you're only using 1.4v that just might be enough to cause the VRMs to fail.

1st) Its nothing ghetto at all... I have 2 ultra kaze 3000 rpm on my 212+ and they push about 135CFM.
2nd) Overclocking on a horrible motherboard like that will cause your VRMs TO MELT! They wont even handle a single core let alone dual cores at 4.0Ghz.
Get a good mobo and a good cpu cooler. Dont waste your time and money... If you need a really good mobo and want to go 4Ghz get this:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=5975089

Its probably the best microatx amd mobo on the market.

Get some VRM heatsinks,problem solved.
CM Hyper 212+ would be a great budget cooler for your PHII X2.

Those fans wouldn't cut it,.The stock fans run up too 2800 rpm. Can't ask for much more than that,as the difference between 2,000 and 2,800 is almost nil.
