Unlocked 6950 2gb vs GTX 560 Ti Hawk

Thread Starter
I can get a MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk for $270, or essentially a HD6970 for $273.

Which would offer better performance? SLI/CF scaling? Folding PPD?

As the price difference between the two is negligible, which would be a better choice? I game at 1600*900, and I'd like to fold on it as well.

Folding, the 560 would win, I think. Everything else, the unlocked 6950 would be much faster. Those cards really scream, locked or unlocked.

The price point is the only thing similar about them, even locked I'm fairly certain the 6950 would beat the 560.

560ti..

the only advantage for the 6950 is the 2gb memory which is handy when playing in higher resolutions like 19x10..

The hawt are useless. First the gtx 560ti dont run hot at alll so why the need for a loud cooler. Second mmost gt560 ti can get close to 1ghz oc easily so why do we need all the gimmick stuff that the hawt have: triplevoltage and voltage check ppint. Third,it have only 1 gb of memory, fourth, it worth 240 bucks at best, for 270, might just as well go with a 6950 2 gbs.

He doesn't need 2gb for gaming at 1600x900. He can always go cheaper Ti too. I personally would avoid anything MSI, but thats just me.

6950 for gaming, if you want to do anything else like folding our gpu-computing then 560. I had to make the same choice but I love my 560 for BOINC, CS5.5 and password cracking.

Then they should stop trying to make graphics cards and make aftermarket coolers for them
