Time to go shopping!

After getting tan lines in my monitor I knew it was on it's way out. Came home the other night to it being off and a flickering power light.

I'm going to start working (Yippee!) so I should probably get onto replacing that monitor!

I've considered eyefinity/surround but from my understanding I'd have to replace my video card with two video cards. Is it worth running surround/eyefinity? Is it something that's going to outdate extremely fast? Also is it feasible to play games with great frames with a feasible solution, ex. sli 560's?

Otherwise I'm looking at just running a dual monitor setup. They look like great fun and having one screen does suck at times.

From my understanding the Dell 2x11 looks like a hit on these forums. Are they the end all be all of monitors? Don't know what to look for really but I'll probably be using ncix or newegg.ca.

Thanks for any advice

EDIT: Also, I see alot of 21in. monitors displaying 1080p now... Is the picture just as good as the 24in ones? I wasn't aware of this until I looked on ncix.

Eyefinity/Surround looks absolutely fantastic, but I wouldn't expect great frames with anything less than dual 6970s (or flashed 6950 2GBs) or GTX 570s/480s.

Definitely some of the best IPS monitors for your money. Wish I had gotten one when I was picking out a monitor last year.

This picture will actually be better, as there is a higher pixel density.

So there are both of these Dells. The 23 inch is worth 70$ more at retail. If the 21.5 inch looks better, I'm slightly confused as to why the 23 inch exists in the first place.

Regardless, thank you for your answers

It looks better because, eg: if you have two monitors both 1080p, one is 21.5" and the other is a 30", then the picture quality is going to be better on the 21.5 as they both have the same pixel count, but the smaller has better density as it has less screen to fill with the same amount of pixels.

^This.

The 23'' costs more because it's a larger panel (and therefore cost more to manufacture).

Well then, you guys have helped me clarify what size screen I will be getting. I'll probably pick up two, then get a third after I rack up funds for surround. Thanks guys. You've been great help +rep.
