Color Scheme Changes when VLC is Launched

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, just thought I'd see if anyone else is having this problem. I changed up my cards from three GTX 480s to three 5870s. They are not crossfired because I have no bridges.

Now, I have a weird problem. Every time I start a video to launch VLC, my memory usage starts climbing and Windows changes my color scheme to basic. There is a notification about how my performance is slow, and then switches it after a minute or two. It pretty much turns off Desktop Composition and disables Aero. This is with 11.5, Windows 7 64 bit, and the newest VLC version. It never did this with the GTX 480s so I'm assuming it is because of the video card switch.

Anyone having this issue? I'll be back after I eat some carne asada fries. Thanks for the help!

I seem to recall something like this at one point but can't really remember what was causing it, or how I fixed it for that matter

First suggestion would be to do a thorough uninstall and cleaning of all display drivers and software

Re install and see if it still does it
