laptop 2.5 hdd run on tower pc?

So I sold my laptop but kept the HDD, is it possible to hook it up to my tower and set the bios for it to boot up normally (windows xp 2.5 hdd)

That way I can sorda have my laptop the way it was but on my screen.

If that happens, I think you can use an XP install disk to repair the installation and fix the drivers.

Generally does not work all that well even on similar hardware in desktops unfortunately.

If it doesn't work then try the xp disk repair, if still won't work see if it will let you in via safe mode.

so hooking up a 2.5 is the same as a normal size hdd correct? I have extra sata wires or will I need to get some kind of special connector converter??

No problems at all.

My RAID0 wouldn't work for boot so I just took a 120GB SATA2 2.5" HDD from my mum's old laptop to use for a bit, works fine.

Just get it into the tower, hook it up and set it for boot.
If you get anything like low resolution, either restart the PC and it will be fixed (auto install of drivers without reboot warning), or just install the video drivers.

There are NO problems with mine, same as a 3.5" drive.
