Z68 or P67 (Urgent Please)

post #1 of 15

Hello Guys,,,

I am planning to upgrade my PC from 950 to i7 2600k.

Think of taking AUS p67 Deluxe or Sabertooth p67 but recently i am hearing about this z68 chipset very well.. Though I didn't find any performance between p67 and Z68 except the IGP advantage.

What do you Guys suggest me to go. Is really IGP that matters.. Though i don't do any Video encoding or trans-coding much. I game and watch HD movies a lot.
Even if it is considerable performance increase present between p67 or Z68 in General applications and Games. I would wait for z68 to lauch in my place.

Please suggest me..

Thanks in advance

Thanks to Both...for reply But unfortunately you both didn't answer to my main question.

@antipesto93

2600k Is already purchased. It's kind of Gift to me. so i just have to buy Mobo. Or else i don't need to upgrade my 950. It's wonderful Processor... I can't sell that 2600k since it's a Gift. so Had to sell my Old system now (Already two persons interested to buy Mine)..

There is no difference performance wise. I'd go with the Deluxe, it offers many nice features as well as the new EFI BIOS which in most cases is good.

I personally didn't feel the features the Deluxe offered justified the extra $45 price tag, so I went with the pro.

I'd definitely go for the z68. It has SSD smart cache, which essentially turns your hard drive into a huge SSD with only a moderately sized SSD. Also, even though you're not using integrated graphics right now, it's a good backup in case you need to RMA a card or you're in between trading/buying a new card.

This is completely wrong, a user will see a more noticeable difference if he only puts his OS on say a 30-60gb ssd.

To the OP, the pro will do fine unless there is some feature you want that it doesn't have. If you can justify the Deluxe price difference then go ahead.

As far as P67/Z68, go with P67, unless the Z68 is less than 10$ difference, in which case you might as well buy it.
