Prototype and Mootools

Thread Starter
Ok well I have been building a wordpress site for someone and have just ran into a little snag with these two java frameworks. The site I am running has a theme that uses mootools 1.11 for a slider effect in the header and I needed to build a page with a printable lightbox for coupons. Well of course the lightbox runs off of the prototype framework and the two on one page just didn't play nicely with each other. I was having problems with it crashing browsers and so I upgraded the prototype in the lightbox that I had to the latest release which stopped that but after that either the lightbox or the slider would work and it was still throwing out errors. I just built a custom header for that one page that didn't call out to the mootools so that the lightbox would work and quit with the errors but now on that one page the slider does not work anymore.

I am wondering if anyone out there knows of a work around to get the two frameworks to work together or is there a way to upgrade the mootools from 1.11 to 1.3.2. I have tried what I could find on the internet about some compatibility patches but they dont seem to work for me.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated...

Don't know if you found your answer already, but you can't use mootools and prototype together because of the way their frameworks both use/change certain native javascript items.

You can however, switch to jquery and use noConflict. Basically :
mootools + jquery = OK
prototype + jquery = OK
mootools + prototype = Not Ok
