Although I agree that the OP should look at the 955, he should also see what he can sell the CPU/Mobo for and if it is enough for SB. If not, then 955 is his best bet.
Nobody is going to argue that the i5 is more powerful, but this is clearly an AMD thread, and tbf, benchmarks aside, the actual fps difference between them is negligble if your gpu is adequete, you'll get a few cpu dependent games that will visibly gain more from the i5 power, but as i said, generally speaking, if a game is playable on an i5, its still going to be playable on a 955.
