Ok guys my motoerboard is dieing so time for an upgrade.

Cant decide what to go for love the look of the p67 asus sabertooth.

going to try and get an 2600k but fund may not allow it.
so it would be a 2500k instead.

basiclly waht i need to know is what is better the p67 or z68 both are about the same price. but i still not sure dont do much video encoding but might do at a later. date.

any help much appreciated

I'd go with the z68 if it's the same price. It has all the features of P67

My thoughts on the new Z68.
You are better off just putting your OS on an ssd rather than using the caching.
The video encoding help that you can receive isn't really significant.

Just pick which ever is cheaper, or if the Z68 is within 10$ why not (for resale value ect)

As far as motherboards go, the saber tooth is a solid board, but I think the "heat shield" is a gimmick, but you still get the extra 2 years of warranty. Look at the Gigabyte UD4, personally that look is my favorite .

It's not much difference as far as I'm aware- video encoding, onboard graphics, and SSD caching. I'm not sure about it being slower... I was under the impression that it's basically the same chipset.
