The high-end boards will have 8 slots.

Ivy Bridge will have 4 slots (1155 and lower-end 2011) and 8 slots. (Upper end 2011)

You'd have no idea how expensive and difficult it would be to route every RAM slot so that all the RAM traces are equal in length, hence why only ultra high-end boards will have it.
