[VR-Zone][56K Warning!] Computex 2011: X79 motherboards - Page 10

The ram placement is not a surprise to me, afterall the X79 socket is very closely related to server class designs, hence the weirdness...

I think it looks pretty nice. Something different for a change.

Besides it's the performance that matters, not the looks.

Putting the memory banks on both sides of the socket leaves no room for a heftier VRM. Fail.

Yes. LGA2011=SB-E=X79. LGA2011 will replace LGA1366 as the Enthusiast platform.

As a side note I do not enjoy the looks/aesthetics of any of the motherboards listed in this revealing. I didn't expect them to reveal such a layout for the DDR3-DIMM's either. Doesn't look like I will be considering SB-E. Bulldozer Overhaul incoming.
If I am correct, these boards will be for enthusiasts. Most likely instead of ran with huge air coolers, these boards will be quite nice for water cooling setups, phase change, etc.

In fact I like how the designs are, and damn that socket is awesomely huge, socket screams I am made for a very powerful processor.
Interesting looking boards, it seems to me that since the socket is so large you would want at least an e-atx board to have enough room to work with.
