Thanks for the link, actually i am thinking to shift from 950 to 2600k and i am looking for the best MB.
That is a 1366 mobo, unless you already got that. your wording made it sound like you might not have.

Anyways, I don't know why you'd get the 2600k unless you need 8 threads. It's absolutely pointless for gaming, and if heavy OCing is your overall goal, once you get up into extreme OCs hyperthreading will just cause instability. Obviously if you keep it reasonable it won't matter but I can't say I agree with buying a 2600k for a gaming rig.

Huge waste.

Take the money you save and put it into a nice mobo. P8P67 pro or sabertooth from asus, msi p67aGD80 or GD65, asrock extreme 4 or 6, there are plenty of good choices.

If your goal is gaming and overclocking than a 2500k would be perfect.Don't bother with hyper thread unless you encode video.Overclocking and gaming=2500k.

Thanks for your advice, my ud7 worth almost $400, i was thinking to buy the 2600k + some more $$$ for the M.B, and keep my old 950 for some other option..
And yes you MB options are totally nice, but i am a bit confused which one to go.. i think i will chose the ASUS. Dont you recommend Gigabyte.??

So total is almost $550 which is fit me 100%, i am getting a new powerful CPU, good for gaming with good MB for OCing, and in the same time i have an extra 950 cpu.

I dont encode video, i want the pc for gaming and watching movies in 3D. i think 2600k is better and will not make that much different in $$

There are some gigabyte options as well, the p67 ud3, ud4, ud5, ud7 are all pretty good.

also, no the 2600k is not a lot better. It is ONLY better in video encoding and other multithreaded tasks.

This is exemplified here: http://www.guru3d.com/article/core-i...-2600k-review/

in gaming it was either exactly the same or 1fps above the 2500k at 1080p. complete waste.

if you are not encoding, do NOT buy the 2600k. save yourself the cash.
