Help needed with Asus Rampage 3 - Page 2

If the CPU is not overclocked and 40C is at idle then it maybe a little high, but it really only matters how high it gets under load

What are you using to monitor temps, RealTemp is the best in my opion for a i7 9XX.

Download and run OCCT on the auto CPU test and see how high the core temps get in RealTemp. They should not go over 80C, if they do shut off OCCT.

Hello Idahosurge,

I was using Core temp to monitor the temperatures but have now downloaded Real temp the average idle was between 30-40 across all cores. I ran the other program you gave me for about 6 minutes and the temperature only maxed out to 65 degrees celcius. I was not sure if I should run it for an hour or not..

Anyway saying this shouldnt i be getting temps a lil lower with the h60? The processor is at stock speed and the bios settings are default for it aswell.

Thank you

Letting OCCT run for an hour will stress your system to see if it is stable. Your temps are fine. The H60 will not cool as well as a Silver Arrow or a D14. 65C maybe a little high for stock, but it may just be the H60, you can try applying new timm and remounting to see if that helps. Also some timm required time to cure so if you just built your system the temps may drop over the next couple of days, it just depends on the timm you used.

Yeah i was thinking of changing the thermal compound, I used the standard one that came pre applied i have a tube of noctua stuff. Might get some mx 2 and see how it goes then.

Thanks again
