haf x front usb ports short?

Thread Starter
I have the haf-x. I had a usb game controller connected to the front right usb port. Has anyone experienced any type of grounding issue with the silver piece that separates the top and bottom usb port?

I kept getting a message on bootup in the bios there was an overvoltage. Turns out the silver piece was hitting the bottom lead. I pushed the silver piece up and it seemed to resolve the problem. It seems very weak.

Has anyone had an issue like this? Thanks.

i haven't really tried the front ones, but if thats the problem i would suggest just using the back ones, if your cables are long enough

Fast try taking out the Reset switch lead off the motherboard and replicating the problem

this is a known issue by coolermaster and people on different forums

I'm no longer getting the bios error of usb overvoltage. I was getting a short on the front usb port. REsolved it by pushing the middle silver separator back.
