TrueBlack RevC vs Corsair H50/70?

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
...for my i7 950 at 4.2Ghz. Which one is better? The summer is comming and it's getting hot these day. My load temp goes from 85-86*C each core to 88-90*C underload (P95,Linx) I'm thinking about...
1. Getting a new push-pull fans but I don't know if it can help, my temp is now crazy already. Btw, I'm using only one push fan that comes with Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283. Just wondering...
2. Should I lap the TrueBlack? Will it "magically" drop my temp down significantly, along with giving it a new push-pull couple of course?
===> These options cost me very little, but the efficiency is questionable.
3. Getting a new CS H50 or 70. I've never had any experience with these two at all, seems like no one has ever compared them to my current AC as well (But those CS sure look nicer, period). I don't know whether if H50/H70 can outperform my TrueBlack or not (Lapped. push-pull installed,etc...)
===> Costs alot more, the efficiency is still very questionable.
Any suggestion is highly welcomed!
Some notes:
Quote:
21x200 = 4.2GHz
Vcore 1.3500V (bios)
QPI 1.355V
HT on
I prefer <=85* underload, which means I will give those CS a go if they could lower my temp down at least 5-6*C underload (p95, Linx)
Thanks in advance.

I'd go Push-Pull H70.

I cant speak for the TRUE Black, but if its anything like the Copper TRUE, an H50/70 will not compete. But i believe the Copper TRUE was one of a kind, not very many made. I say get you some good fans in P/P
