CPU + 2 GPU loop for $385, can I make this any cheaper? - Page 4

The RX series is really only good if you want to run 1000 - 1400 rpm fans (imo the build quality is heinous compared to Hardware Labs and TFC rads). Other than that it's an extremely mediocre radiator despite how much people seem to love it on this forum. People bandwagon the RX series rads for some reason even though they aren't the best for most people's setups, but they are priced pretty well which is probably the reason why. I suppose people don't want to pay an extra 30% for the HW Labs version. With the fans that come with the kit (1700 rpm ones) the RS rads will actually cool better unless the fans are undervolted. 1700 rpm isn't really loud anyway unless you stick your head next to it or have absolutely no ambient noise. I'd get the RS260 kit and be done with it.

You're not getting what I'm saying. I'm willing to have the same fans one would use on an RS radiator on my RX radiator. I really don't mind the noise, and plus I would get better performance.

I understand perfectly. You are going to use the fans that come with the kit. The ones that come with the Kit are 1700 rpm fans, thus the RS 360 will cool better than the RX 360 (or should depending upon static pressure). With the same fans the RX series will only perform better than the RS when you undervolt them to say 1400ish rpm or lower. RS is a better choice if you don't plan to undervolt the fans.

Sorry forgot to include that I'm getting six of these fans.

I am also getting a fan controller that controls voltage from 0-12v. So, once I get that I can experiment at which speed gives me the best performance.

You are the only person that I have ever heard saying that RS kit beats the RX kit with the stock fans or different fans confused.gif
Ive been thru every page of the XSPC Rasa kit club, And ive never seen one person say that.

I must correct myself after researching now. Anything 3k and above the RS is better due to 14 fpi vs 8 fpi in the RX.

Read through some of this, and wanted to post this while it is still (might be) relevant. I just searched it up for a guy thinking about getting the RX360, and thought I'd post it here, due to the pump concerns from the first page. http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?id=889&page=7 and click back to page 6. It shows that the pump that comes with the RX360 kit, is slightly worse, but not too much so, then the MCP655 (on setting 3- if you look at page 6, setting 5 blows it away for GPH- though I saw somewhere that the XSPC X2O 750 is supposed to have 198 GPH, not the 143 shown- I'll go take a gander).

[EDIT] http://www.jab-tech.com/XSPC-X2O-750-Dual-5.25-Bay-Reservoir-Pump-pr-4728.html is saying that the pump is 750 LPH (198 GPH), as is http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/xspc-x2o-750-pump.html .... So I've no idea who to believe! /headdesk

Most of my stuff should arrive tomorrow / the next day. I'll be using the RX360 pump to push a CPU, 2x GPU (6970s), through a 360 res, and a 240 res. I'm figuring it'll work- hoping if nothing else tongue.gif

Good luck mate!

Wermad ran a tri sli 470 system with that pump for a long while with no problems. Pretty solid pump for the price

I was just about to say...
So to clarify: if I use the fans that I linked to, I would still get a lot better temps on RX versus RS?

Thanks, that's the same thing I am going to do. One CPU, dual GPU, one 360, and one 240. It better work, and I am pretty sure it will. The pump included in the kit is really not as bad as people say it is.
