Whats the best way to paint the inside of a case?

Thread Starter
Im wanting to paint the inside of my computer case and back panel to make it look way better, coz the galvanized steel look looks like crap, and I want it to look good, BUT im wondering how to get the whole inside painted easily, since theres different panels, and bays and stuff inside the case. Any help with this would be much appreciated, thanks!

You could just paint it as is and try to get every part of the case evenly. The best way would be to take it all apart, piece by piece, sand it down, primer, and then paint it.

pull both panels off and the front bezels as well as any fans and hardware and clean it with soap and water then hit the whole case with 2000grit sandpaper and wash it again then use self etching or automotive primer and cover the whole case with 3-5 even light coats let it dry 2-3 hours sand with 4200g sandpapaer to smooth it all out wand wash it with alchohol. then apply 2-3 light coats of your base color. sand smooth with 4200g and add another 2-3 light coats of your base color.

for glossy finish use high gloss clear coat and sand last base coat and wash with alc. sand with 4200g or higher apply 2 light clear coats and sand. wash with alc. apply 3-4 light coats and let dry.

for a matte military look use all flat paint. and use a flat clear coat. dont sand last base coat and spray 2 coats of clear and sand then 2 more coats of clean and let air dry for 24 hrs.

for a flat aircraft look use 4-5 coats of primer. use 4-5 coats of flat color and 1 coat of clear. finish it off with some wicked pin striping and seal with another coat of clear.

with the inside of the case dont worry about sanding every lil spot only sand what you can see and what is easily reached

This^

use a laquer if you want a really shiney finish aswell..

if you are going to use spray paints then make sure to put them in a warm bowl of water first then shake for 5 mins..

a very light sand between coats is advised aswell..
