Gigabyte reference GTX 570 Help.

Thread Starter
I have a vanilla Gigabyte GTX 570 ,one of the first ones that were sold on Newegg. it has been acting funny as of late . I installed forceware 270 ,and I was getting driver crashes ,so I re installed 266.58. But I still get a driver failure every now and then ,also when playing Crysis (1) ,sometimes ,it looks like my guy has a bayonet attached to his fist ,or Rocket launcher .It happens every now and then .Not shure if this is artifacting ? I have never tried Driver Sweeper .Should I sweep ,and re- install a different driver for a 570?

They have VRM issues. This might be why your's is crashing.

It does sound like a texture issue due to drivers... Install the Nvidia 275 beta's, and use the clean installation option in the installer. I've never bothered with driver sweeper because IMO if I cared that much I would just re-install for a 100% clean OS feeling. If the 275 beta's don't help you should consider making backups and re-installing if it's been a while

if you overclocked it too far, it might be time to check on your warranty op! I'm not sure what "too far" would be...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your 570's health!

Thank you .I usually run it at 1.063V Core ,Core clock @ 810 shader obviously 1620,and a memory clock of 2017. I have not until recently had any trouble. On Crysis 2 I get a pretty steady 63 FPS on the highest settings, with occasional dips into the 50's . Crysis 2 runs better than 1 . My first card in this rig was a GTX 275 ,and honestly ,I really don't notice that big a difference with Crysis ,with the 570. It seemed like my 470 ,had more kick than this card. I never should have sold it.

I loaded the 275 Beta .I lost 10 FPS in Kombustor and Crysis 2 ,and still acting funky. I am very disappointed with my upgrade from the 470 -570

Thank you for help ,regardless. I feel like I just want to change cards to something else now. Not sure where I could go from here ,without spending $500 .

There are also 275.33 OFFICIAL drivers that came out today, but if your artifacting problem is gone then at least you won't have to RMA the card just yet.

Contact Gigabyte and see what their support center recommends. It's usually a long-shot but you can see if they would replace it if you feel like going without a gpu for a week or two lol
