Q8400 Stock temps

These temps ok for H50 push and pull? The Q8400 is at stock speeds and is doing 45c under full load. Need a bit of temp head room for when i start overclocking it again.

Ambient?
Doesn't look too bad.

Ambient is around 20-24c. Always changing in my room though because of thew sun, which always shines through my windows heating things up. But i was just unsure whether 45c was hot, considering its at stock clocks

That's not bad.
Stock TIM that came with it or?

Great temps, considering your CPU core was upto almost 1.25v under full load, according to HWinfo 32! So you should have plenty of headroom ! These Q8400 R0's are often just as good as Q9550/Q9650 E0's when it comes to speed/Vcore needed

Ahhh, glad your here! (the king of 775) haha
Need to flash my bios before i start overclocking, but i can seem to get q-flash to detect my drives. Anyway on topic, how hot did your Q9400 get when you got that amazing overclock out of it? *looks at sig* the Q9400 is just the Q8400's big brother right?

King of 775 'I wish'

Anyway, link in signature is just my highest CPU/FSB Validation It means I validated and computer crashed seconds after

But what I can tell you is that my Q9400 R0 does 4GHz at lower Vcore VS my Q9650 E0.

Yes, the Q8400 is very similar to the Q9400, only yours has lesser L2 Cache. It may be it is lower binned and not a good clocker. Only one way to find out though, overclock !

You have the motherboard to bring it high. You clearly have a good cooling setup too, so everything is in your favor

They are fine but the Q8400 has TIM between the die and IHS not solder, so as it gets more volts for clocking the temps will quickly rise regardless of how great your cooling is short of top notch water or removing the IHS.

mines runs 80c under full load all day long completely stable. 45c full load isn't the best but is isn't too shabby either.
