Screen Blank on Startup

Yesterday my computer worked completely normally, but now when i try to start up, nothing happens. fans spin, lights turn on, i can hear the H50 bubbling as usual, but on my monitor...nothing.

The first time i turned it on, it said "loading asus express gate" and got stuck on that. then i realized i left the asus driver disc in (i recently reinstalled win7). So i took that out and it's not getting stuck on that anymore. BUT...

I start up again and i get the normal motherboard splash screen, and THEN it tells me that my stupid asus express gate is out of date and that i would need to download the latest version. Then it gives me 10 seconds to press any key to continue. I press the any key, and then it just gives me a blank screen with nothing but a blinking underscore. I let that sit for about 5 minutes, and nothing. So i turned it off.

I tried popping in the win7 install disc to see if it needs to be repaired or something, but when i start up, nothing still. sometimes my monitor says DVI no signal and then goes to sleep. (and i checked, everything is plugged in correctly). And other times the monitor stays on, but the screen is completely blank! no bios, no anything.

WHAT DO I DOOOOO?

oh and before it stopped working, i was playing fallout 3 and the super mutants kept changing texture. like one second they were made out of concrete, then they were super mutants, then they were made out of meat textures, etc. bizarre. and the loading screen wasn't the loading screen at all. it was just a picture of all of the button icons for the xbox controller and all of the good karma/bad karma icons. really weird. i wasnt sure if it was my computer, or just fallout 3 being...fallout 3.
