Noctua U12P to Corsair H50 worth it?

Thread Starter
How much of a difference will I see?

I'm really considering making the switch because I am planning on shipping my computer across the country soon and the H50 will put much less stress on the CPU bracket when it is in transit.

Thanks!

EDIT: Right now my 2500k is peaking at about 75C at 4.7GHz at 1.38V and about 65C at 4.5GHz at 1.32V.

^^^ this. For about $20 more you can get 1 of the top 3 air cooler a Silver Arrow. A Silver Arrow trades blows with the NH D-14 for the top spot.

H50 isn't crap. With proper fans (GT 15s) it performs very well. Also doesn't have 14lbs of heatsink stressing the board... let the h50 flaming begin!

Good point.

I really don't think the H50 is worth it... also when the new ones come out the prices on the older ones should go way down.

I concur, with better fans, the H50 can perform pretty well. But then the pricing would be stretched with better fans and I think that's one issue.

The h60 is all around better. On the egg, they're the same price. IF you're going to go with corsair fake water cooling, at least do yourself the favor of getting the h60. And if you're really worried about the weight of your cooler (depending on shipping, they might be reasonable worries too) then just uninstall it. Keep it in the box and install it when you get there.
