this pump top. Its sitting in my shopping cart.

Im wanting to use my own compression fitting on the pump so I can add a res to the pump, but not sure about its performance. Anyone have any experience with it?

Im wanting to add an EK-MultiOption RES X2 - 400 Basic - Liquid Cooling Reservoir (4 Total Ports) with it. Using a Bitspower G 1/4 Matte Black Male to Male Rotary Extender (BP-MBRG) to connect them both.

Begin.

Given the price of the top itself probably not a wise idea. Have you thought of selling your mcp655 and get the MCP35X. I am not sure about the performance on that top, but won't be worse than the stock top I suspect. MCP35X can use compression fitting and place the reservoir on top of the pump saving space as well.

Another thing you should note is that reservoir is very tall going to take up a good amount of room, bigger doesn't mean always better.

Im keeping the pump. Im getting the dress up kit for it. I guess I should edit the option 3 for other options for this pump, not other pumps.

Besides that, I have a Cosmos 1000, and will never own anything smaller if I can ever help it. So a 400 res is not an issue. I am trying to work it to set up a vortex in the res, just enough to spin the water without causing bubble issues.

I have that top in acetal, and it has done pretty well for me so far. (I wanted to have the flexibility of changing my flow direction without having to jerry-rig a pump mount.) Be warned, this top does have 3/8" openings, so if you are planning on using G1/4" fittings, you'll need 3/8 to 1/4 reducers. I didn't pay attention to that little tidbit, and had to make an emergency trip to Home Depot for some.
