Holy crap, why are Hyper 212s getting expensive now? Because they are so popular? I bought them for $21 at Frys before.

Anyway, if you can find a cheap (I would assume you are referring to Cooler Master) Hyper 212+, then go for it. It performs really well and the stock fan is very quiet even under load, you will never hear it running. Plus you are using an air case, so go air cooling.

I have to have this setup finished in 3 days.
No 212's at coolermaster website
The prices I have for either unit is the cheapest you will be able to find anywhere including shipping or price for gas for travelling. (the H50 is below cost to any company). The nearest frys to be in a 2.5 hr drive away.

Another thing to consider is my case I will be using.
Lanboy air mid tower. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129091
All mesh with a steel frame an plastic panelling to hold the mesh. IDk what fan setup I will be using. I have plenty of fans to choose from (tons of big ones from my HAF932).
I am afraid of loud noise from all the fans. I will be having this setup in my living room as a media/gaming PC, which my room mates also use. So keeping down the noise is quite important. I am upgrading to the lanboy air from a InWin red Ferrari case.

If I get the 212 Plus, I will have another stock fan available from my friend who has a spare stock fan from his 212 Plus since he upgraded his fans.

Can't go wrong with the h50.Exceptional cooling for the price. As long as you have top exhaust and can pull air in through the rad from outside the case.

H50 cools better, meaning you can over clock more. I don't know how well a 512 would cool an i7 950 at 4.2 ghz, probably not very well since that's more megahelm's territory. My coolermaster hyper520 could cool my i7 at 3.7 ghz, I don't know how much different it is from a 212. It was loud too, my h70 is silent.

One thing you should note is that you might want to call your local best buy and see if they have one in stock since they're sold out online, otherwise you might as well take it out of the comparison, because that puts it back up at 70 bucks.

That's an ass-backwards statement. Just because you have a mediocre CM cooler, doesn't make everything else garbage. The Coolermaster brand isn't really anything to brag about. It gets the job done and that's about it.

IMO, I'd say H50 for the simple fact that it would cool your chip relatively better than the 212, (especially under load), as well as perform excellent on any future CPU's you purchase.
