Hi,
im about to get an HD6850 cf, and i have a REALLY important question that i couldnt find an answear to anywhere.
atm im using a hd4870x2, pretty decent theese days but it sounds like a parking truck and heats up my room to 900celicus LOL, so the question is:
will the hd6850 heat up like the 4870x2? and is it quiet or sounds like a boeing 747 take off just like my 4870x2?

Temperature wise, the 6850's will NOT be that hot. Noise wise, that all depends on the brand you get, whether you get reference or non reference and whether you have a fan profile set up for them.

The gigabyte I found has a cooler similar to the MSI Twin Frozr's. I found 2 Sapphire 6850s, 1 has a reference design and the other is close to reference, but isn't reference. I'd go for the gigabyte and then use a fan profile of 1:1 with fan speed%:GPU temperature.
