Single 120MM radiator cpu only loop

Thread Starter
I recently purchased a used EK radiator from a friend and I believe it was damaged while I was moving. I really don't have the money to purchase a new radiator right now but I already installed all the stuff and rather get it working.

My plan is to buy a single 120 rad to put on the exhaust of my 800D and just use that to cool my cpu for now. I plan on cooling my gpus one day and will get a 360 rad when that times come.

I rather keep the total cost for everything bellow sixty dollars to include shipping. I already have fans and barbs so all I really need is the radiator itself. Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated!

If you are going to go only with a 120 then at least get a thick one. The RX120 is pretty thick and might be enough to cool your CPU.

Why do you say "might be enough" if people are cooling their cpus with corsair h50 which this should be better than? It might not be super cold but it should at least be enough. Or am I mistaken?

SWIFTECH 360 RAD -55 BUCKS

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108098

It cools as good as a thick 360 radiator , and it costs the same as a thick 120mm rad which will cool no where close to it.

Basically this means that you won't have to replace it later and if you did for say an rx 360, it would be the same as replacing a 120 mm rad. aka Bi-winning

I agree with Joe. You gonna need a thick rad if you going to stick with 120mm rad. Also, you got to keep in mind how far you going to oc your cpu. If you going to oc your cpu really high, you going to need a bigger rad.

Also, take a look at this link:

this. i mean, you already have the case for it and it's even cheaper than some of the thick 120mm rads on frozencpu.

My only worry that radiator won't be quite enough when i decide to cool my gpus. I don't mind getting a good 120 for now and a good 360 to the loop later. I also would prefer low speed fans and this raf seems a little thin. If yall think its up to snuff though I'll definitely buy it! Thanks for the quick replies!

I think you'll be fine 240 can usually do a cpu and 1 gpu fine. It depends on how much you overclock your gpus and cpu.
