Playing games at school?

Thread Starter
My school has wifi in the cafeteria and in the library, so I want to bring my laptop to school and play during lunch and whatever.

The problem is that the school network blocks the ports needed to play games online, so what is the best way to alleviate this?

My friend tried using Hotspot Shield, but got lag spikes which made the games unplayable.

What suggestions do you guys have?

I agree school isn't the place for playing video games. At launch you should be eating and taking a mental break before your next class.

Heck do some home work from your AM classes then you won't have as much to do when you get home.

I came here as a place of reference because I thought I would get actually answers, not just some witty responses from people who thing they're clever. Last time I checked, your on 'overclock.net' as well, so why don't follow your own advice? Why are you assuming I don't play sports nor socialize as well?

God, I can't believe this community has succumbed to being another 4chan. When I first joined everyone was positive and there was a 'professionalism initiative.

80 minutes is more than enough for eating. I want some decent suggestions, not someone trying to parent me.

ditto on this bro. Just because its almost time for school to be let out, doesnt mean to be playing video games during your school hours. plus, you might get your laptop taken away and will never see it again. Be smart and do your school work and stay in school.

Firstly, the question you're asking is against the T&C of overclock.

I'm on my way to work - just killing time on OCN.

I didn't assume you don't socialise - I simply don't think that lunchtime at school's the place to play games on your computer.

Again, you guys are taking the context too seriously. I do fine in school anyhow, and I don't have time to play games at home anyways.

Why would the staff take my laptop away? For playing games during my free time?

Please, just give me a decent answer to the question posed, and ignore the context in which it is presented in.

lol, in the OPs defence, his "socialising" time might be by playing games with his friends. I mean, what if the weather is complete rubbish, whats the harm in playing a computer game? That is some peoples way of taking a "mental break" too ya know.

Perhaps you should follow what is quoted in your SIG.
