Would not qualify it as ultimate unless you grab the top of the line GPU and SLI it, and throw in a top notch SSD. 580 is great but dual GPU cards like the 6990 kill it.

Not insulting just saying if your gonna go big go effing humungous.

EDIT: NVM got ninja'd
Right right, not literally "ultimate", but not your average build either.

Oh and I've changed my mind on GPU's, look here:
http://www.overclock.net/graphics-ca...s-sli-3gb.html

6970+6990 = Trifire epicness at ~ $1000.

Right on man, great choice. The 6990 is the best right now. That tri-fire is epic overkill slaughter town.lol

I would advise against the eyefinity as I just got done selling mine. It is IMO a gimmick. It only worked stock with three of my games(I own 42) the rest I had to get a fixer for, or they flat out did not support it no matter what I did.

Some people will say "works fine for me" but challenge them to take screenshots of at least 5 newer games supporting it.

I went back to one screen and could not be happier with selling the two others and grabbing a nice DSLR.

Good luck with new system sounds amazing, you are grabbing a SSD right?

Right, I'm just going to stick with a single 30" monitor, and in the future I might go dual 30". And yes, a 128GB OCZ Vertex 3 most likely.

I'm not sure about the OCZ Vertex 3. Seems there's an issue with the latest firmware 2.06 that was released for the SandForce controller. Some are saying to stick to the 2.02 version. Can't say for sure, but check on this before getting that SSD.

Oh... Do you recommend me getting a different SSD or waiting for a firmware fix?

I don't own 5 newer games, but for most every game, eyefinity works.

And the ones that don't, you suck it up and play on 1 screen.

I think eyefinity is more immersive than a single screen could ever be.

I really can't say. Some swear by Corsair C300s or Intel SSDs. I personally only run SATA II SSDs. OCZ Agility 2 to be exact and have no issues. I'm not after the most extreme speeds on SSDs, as they are fast enough and I use my older RAID 0 SATA HDDs for storage in AHCI mode on Intel controller and RST software. I also run SSD tweaker, which is just basically a software program to set Win7 to SSD safe settings.

6970+6990 = Trifire epic NOISE at ~ $1000.
Fixed...

On a serious note, if you are going this route i sure hope you have a GPU Loop in place.
