So far it seems that all motherboards come only with 4 RAM slots. Is this a limit of Sandy Bridge memory controller? For my purpose, I need more than 16GB of memory (I do academic research, and right now I have a gigantic dataset to work with). Browsing newegg, it seems that 6 x 4GB memory set are not that expensive (less than $300). Is there any Sandy Bridge that comes with more than 4 memory slots?
