System will be used mainly for internet, playing music, videos and movies, occasional game, word processor, etc. No heavy video editing or anything like that.

-i5 2500K (225)
-Corsair H60 (70)
-Asus P8P67-pro (180)
-Asus 560 GTX ti (250)
-8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866 @ 1.5v (115)
-BitFenix Outlaw Case (50)
--2x Typhoon fans, filters (40)
-COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600 (100)
-Crucial M4 64gb (120)
-2TB WD Green (80)
-DVD writer (20)

Total: ~$1300 (I'd prefer to not spend much more than this)

Changes so far:
128gb Crucial C300 SSD --> 64gb Crucial M4 (-120)
12gb 1600mhz Vengeance --> 8gb 1866 (-35)
Radeon HD 6870 --> 560 gtx ti (+50)
Dark Knight --> H60 (+20)
Seasonic M12II 520 Bronze --> COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600 (+10)
ASUS P8p67 to P8p67-pro (+20)

TIA

I'm not sure if I really could use 12gb RAM, but given the fairly basic uses I have in mind, I'm guessing 8g would be plenty for now.

OCZ's 60gb Agility 3 drive is looking pretty good as well at $150.

Open to suggestions, thanks

hello friend
motherbaord - u should pick P8p67-pro has extra features only $20 more

graphics card - ASUS 560GTX ti far better then 6870
$50 more but u also get super performance

cooling - H60 only $20 more than ur budget
FOR EXTREME OC
let me calculate $20+$50+$20=$90
spend more 90 to get the BEST

I wouldn't go for the H60, it has a really hard time cooling good overclocking on i7/i5's. I would swap it for a Megehalem or something similar.

Keep the i5 2500k, keep the RAM, everything else looks good.

H60 has virtually no better cooling then the H50 and costs more. Also you really dont need more than 4gb of ram unless you are using MAYA or animation or stuff like that.

a very good ram choice for you would be a kingston hyperX 2x2gb kit, then you will have the same motherboard, graphics card, cpu, and ram as me, and i can honestly say they are a winning combination.

if you want cheap water cooling, get the h50 or h70. the h50 and h60 perform very similar 1~ degree or so different, but i would suggest holding off on watercooling and saving for a little while and look into a XSPC rasa watercooling kit, its got a resovoir (no idea how to spell that) and pump in the same module which uses 2 5.25" drive bays and its cheap so would be perfect for getting into water cooling, if i go water cooling i will definately buy a xspc rasa 750 360 kit.

edit: here is a video with the rasa kit im talking about.
it comes with different sized radiators too.

I'd your trying to save some money, bestbuy has the h50 for $40, though it is a bit of a downgrade from the h60.

out of both these reviews the biggest gain in cooling performance from the h60 over the h50 was 3 degrees. i definately think the h60 is a lot more aesthetically appealing however.

Thanks for the input. I should probably have stated previously that I don't intend on doing any extreme overclocking, so the H60 may still be a good choice.
