Well, throughout the negative impact COD has left, I was still going to buy MW3, but if they are offering an ingame service that can give players an in-game advantage (new levels means new guns perks?) that's quite where I draw the line, one of the reasons why I don't play F2P MMOs or general games because of the pay-for-skill part.

Fail...very fail. So 60 for the game, 50 for a year of XBL and now 70+ for COD? GG

Call of Duty: Throw tomahawk into the air and kill a man on the other side.

Battlefield: Organize your squads since you have square miles to traverse and not square feet.

You're not forced into paying extra to play the game. It's the same concept as Halo's subscription online community. The exact same thing if not "better". I mean, I wouldn't pay for it anyway - but jeez you people will just JUMP on the opportunity to bash something to eternity just for the sake of doing it. Seriously, it's just plain sad at this point. Take it easy, Activision isn't making it so "you have to spend monthly fees to play our game and get additional content!" Most of it is community-orientated crap and they ~might end up getting some extra goodies. Does it honestly matter that much? It's the same thing as what Halo has been doing for quite some time.

I don't see anyone knocking Halo and its subscription like that. Practically never have I heard someone actually try to. But now that Call of Duty has it - it's gotta be a big deal?

even hitler took babysteps, look where that ended up.

No, im not saying that activision is causing genocide, im just stating that activision is a great evil in the gaming community, and has been for quite some time. They keep taking small steps, seeing how much more they can charge, how little they work they have to do for a sequel, or how little they can put in a $15 map pack. Little steps at a time that eventually add up to a huge mess of money for a product that hasnt produced anything new in what 4 years?

because honestly. couldnt the last 2 COD games have been expansions to mw2?

Activision doesnt have it in them to release a game like the witcher 2. A game that puts 100% into every aspect of the game, even the little things. the small details that activision leaves out of their games because its just added cost and doesnt sell more copies.

I hope people don't support this kind of thinking. They have no reason to justify taking more advantage of the consumer.

but yes your point is well made.

ON SECOND THOUGHT...

this might make the series better - now before you flame me hear m,e out.

This will force dedicated players ie. competitive clanners and such (not the 14yr olds playing witht here friends) this could (but i doubt it)make the game better, because only genuine players will pay. Most parents wont spend $60 for a game + internet + multi subscription + XBL subscription

i know i wouldn't!

They'll spend $30 on a couple maps; I have a feeling a lot of the parents will just spend it so they don't have to listen to little Billy constantly say "But Joey's parents let him plaaaaaaaay. All my friends plaaaaaaay. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaseeeee." wha-smiley.png

Bad Company 2 is fun, Homefront is a COD clone, Crysis 2 Multiplayer is Meh in my opinion. What other FPS titles will be coming out to PC? I play Counterstrike and TF2 yeah sure, so basically it's turning into Battlefield and Valve FPS'...?

Rainbow 6 vegas 3 hopefully
