Yeah, it'd be a great unit (especially for the price) for that job.

99.9% of the time, most people saying they're gonna go dual HD6990's or Dual GTX590's don't though. So make sure you're definitely gonna do it before you buy a PSU of that size.

Most folks buy way more PSU than they need. I did certainly.
I was not aware of that thanks for the info.

Ohhhh, I see.

But I liked the green....

Yeah, the name just confused me a little, I didn't know the green fan ones were changed.

I'm going to pick up the dell UltraSharp U2711 27†in a week and I was not quite sure if the 6990 I currently have would be able to do 2560 x 1440 with good frame rates. so I was thinking about getting a second one.

The Corsair 850w is a Channel Well and everyone can attest to the quality of these.

That new XFX 850pro is a Seasonic and everyone can attest the quality of the sea sonic products.

What about this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-006-_-Product

At this point you are picking between gold coins that are almost identical.

It depends on what you're doing.

My lowly HD6850 can max out Portal2, Fallout NV, HL2 CinematicMod 10 @ 5265x1050@60Hz with very playable framerates. That's over 1.5X the resolution you're running

at 7.09" I don't think that would fit in my case due to my 120mm top intake fan

i have an xfx 750w sitting over yonder.

one thing i really didnt like on it , was it had a non modular 4+4 AND 8 pin motherboard PSU hook ups.

I dont need both, especially at 750W.
