Powerful but quiet cooler for big hot OC

I have a CM TX3 92mm cooler, it was always just temporary, but its all right for very low price, but it barely keeps up with my big OC and all the extra volts.

I might go full watercooling, or a H70....

But what are some good air coolers that are under 35dB, the TX3 is rated up to 35dB, and its by far the loudest thing on my rig, but I have to run it fast.

So what is more powerful and quieter, maybe around 25dB, and I have low profile basic heat spreaders on my g.skills, so clearance should be about normal.

Old cases won't always fit a large, effective cooler. You should really invest in a newer up-to-date case, one that supports larger fans. Smaller fans need to run at higher RPM to achieve the same airflow, which means more noise. And, chances are if it only supports 90mm fans, it's pretty small, which could be bad if you have wires all over the place. Not to mention if you get a larger case that can support a larger cooler, you can run with the side panel on, which will help in reducing noise.

Other than that, it's not the cooler as a whole that causes noise. It's the fans. With a 92mm fan, your options for performance and noise are basically nil. The H70 (and all those enclosed "water cooling" systems) is most useful in applications where size is an issue, like if a small case is absolutely necessary (like going to LAN parties all the time).

Basically, I'd say get a new case so you can get a nice, big cooler, then toss a couple AP-15s on it.
