College Case - Page 2

I'd honestly like to see someone try to steal my 700D. This thing is heavy as can be with two radiators in the watercooling and the case itself. The only thing is I would recommend against the 700D/800D for college because of the sheer size of it can and is a hassle in a small college dorm. I would go with something like an HAF 922 which can fit a 360mm radiator internally.

Another thing I didn't thing about. I'm kinda leaning towards the A05N at this point. Think I could fit sli along with the triple rad in it?

maybe depending on the motherboard, and how thick the rad is, or if you are willing to mount it externally

Get a Case Labs M10 or larger. Then watch your drunk friends try to walk off with it.

man that would be close. I would ask over at the club's thread. They would be able to give you a solid answer. Depending on what slots you are using on your mobo it could be close. In my case with my rampage formula I have the 2nd to last slot filled with a 5770 and there is about 25mm of room. Just enough for a fan. But other card which is in the 3rd slot is about 90mm of clearance and so if your cards take up slots 1-4 maybe even 1-5 it may work. But it would be cramped.

Get something MASSIVE, and heavy. problem solved.

Anyone ever heard of a pad lock and chain??? Why get something heavy? Make it obvious that it isn't going anywhere and people are less likely to mess with it.

Well with insurance I'm slightly less worried about thievery, but size would be fairly important as I'd like to be able to take my pc home with me during breaks.

Or again, don't give them the chance.

I do believe I saw a xfired wc'ing setup either here or on the [h]ardocp forums (there is a 150ish page long thread on the case).

Agreed. But in a last lie of defense. It prevents the most common type of thievery on campuses. A quick walk in a grab. People aren't going to mess with something if they can't pocket it or walk out with it under an arm.
