Looking for a cheap build

Thread Starter
I already have a powersupply (Antec Green 650W) and a video card I could use (ati radeon hd 4670) so those arnt necessary.

Id like to have around a $300 - $400 build, need a case, mobo, processor, HD, disk drive, memory If you could throw in a decent graphics card update for that price that would be amazing.

for 400 bucks? hmmmm.

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ar/c3N

phenom II x4 925

ASUS m4a88td-evo usb3

a second 4670 for crossfire [it's 30 bucks, you might as well!]

a 1tb samsung spinpoint F3

4gb of gskill ram

HAF 912 case

since your monitor is only 19" i'm assuming it's pretty low res. 4670 crossfire should handle it all pretty well.

edit: i gave you an amd processor. If you have you heart set on Intel I can spec you something in that price range as well

same stuff just an i3 2100 dual core w/ hyperthreading and the cheapest crossfire mobo I could find.

it's z68 which is nice and since you can't OC the 4 +1 power phase won't really matter. if this is a strictly gaming machine this build would work perfect, almost all games don't utilize more than 2 cores anyways. This build would also be vastly more power efficient.. the i3 2100 is a 35w processor!
