Best GPU for source games? - Page 3

Can easily get a 5770 for $100 or less. Sapphire HD 5830 for $110 shipped is a steal. Will crush many games at 1080p.

Whats your GPU usage with your current 9800GTX+ in game?

I play 6v6. GPU usage is around 20%, It idles at like 60c though since it's a 9800gtx+

Then buying a new GPU won't help you at all with TF2, lower temps on a new card is a plus though.

Yeah, I really need a new card which doesn't produce this much heat =/
post #25 of 27
Lower temps you say?

Sapphire Vapor-X, extremely cool and quiet. My old 5850 Vapor-X was super quiet and idled at 35C and if I can recall, max was 65C in furmark. Overclocked to 950/1250 @ 1.17V, max on furmark... 75C...

...of course this was in a HAF 932 rolleyes.gif

5770 - $120 + $5 shipping

HD 6570/6670 should run very cool and get good fps in games. My old 4670 averaged around 75 fps in TF2 at 1280x1024--don't have numbers on the 5670/6670 first-hand, but they're pretty darn good despite their "low-mid" branding.

yeah, still looking around. I do own a galaxy gts 450 in my folding rig, it is alright; however, I'd like to get the coolest card I can find. (I can only have a dual slot card)
